The Market by Global Sisters supports women producers to start their own business to create beautiful, marketable products with a heart and a story. Our product offering is focused on three values – handmade, ethical and luxe.
All the items we sell on The Market are made by hand often utilising traditional craft and artisan skills from around the world, from hand-loomed textiles and hand dyeing, to hand woven, sewn and embroidered goods. Every moment of your shopping experience with us has also been touched by, and supports, creative, entrepreneurial women – from our curated product range, to our makers, hand stamped jewellery bags, and gift wrapping and greeting card selection at checkout.
We know that you value an ethical supply chain, and we do too. All our jewellery, homewares, accessories, bags and toys focus on natural materials. We source from a range of suppliers including the women we work directly with through our programs here in Australia and from registered social enterprises, Fairtrade makers, GOTS organic certified suppliers and ethical makers globally. We insist that all women makers work in safe, supportive conditions, and are paid a living wage. Our prices also reflect the true cost of production, ensuring product integrity and financial independence for women.
We source and produce unique, meaningful, joyful products – from artisans across the world – that are made to the highest quality and finish. We focus on products that have purpose and share an important story about the maker. The goods we offer are practical for your home and lifestyle, gentle to the earth, and beautiful to wear, cherish and own. We love everything #EthicalLuxe.
When you buy a product from The Market, you support her craft, and her future. (Learn more about her journey with us here.)
Lots of love,
‘The Market’ team xx
