Torek Farhadi is a multilingual professional with expertise in providing policy advice to top decision makers on integrating women and youth in global trade.
Torek has extensive private sector and development experience including communicating economic concepts in television, radio and print media as well as teaching finance and economics at the California State University-East Bay and the Dauphine University in Paris. His professional experience includes microfinance, SME banking and fundraising, as well as empowering women in international trade. He has also worked for global organisations including Wells Fargo, BNP Parisbas and the World Bank.
France became Torek’s new home as a refugee from Afghanistan and his background inspired him to work in policy and development. Accordingly, his wealth of experience and support of Global Sisters’ work led him to become a Board Member.
Torek has travelled extensively and has lived and worked in France, the US and Afghanistan. He is currently based in Geneva, Switzerland where he is a Senior Adviser at International Trade Centre (ITC). In his spare time Torek enjoys playing chess.
