Mel Harwin is a Social Impact specialist and lover of stories. A community development professional, who has worked with organisations across Asia, The Pacific, The Middle East, Africa and Australia. Mel is passionate about capturing and telling dignifying stories to show and measure social change and communicate impact to a wide audience. She was previously responsible for the strategy and implementation of an Australian based International Aid and Development organisation’s largest privately funded program. Operating across eight countries, and numerous locations.
Mel has substantial experience in rights-based participatory Program design, monitoring, evaluation, learning and research. She aims for efficient, effective and sustainable outcomes that are measurable, achievable, and relevant across a range of stakeholders. Mel has natural people management skills that drive change to promote team ownership, innovation and collaborative experiences. She has thrived in cross-cultural settings taking on the challenge of making people laugh and finding a connection beyond language or cultural barriers. A curious and continuous learner, she is never short of a question. She brings to Global Sisters a fierce passion for building community connections, engaging with stakeholders in a meaningful and sustainable way to create change.
