Social Impact Lead
Joanne has been working in the development sector overseas and in Australia for nearly 10 years, primarily focused on program management, monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment, research/project data collection design and analysis, and assessment and evaluation capacity building. She has worked with international NGOs, multi-national companies and consulting firms across a range of industries including apparel, electronics, manufacturing and microfinance on various initiatives and projects spanned in East and Southeast Asia as well as the pacific region. Her professional experience has mainly focused in areas of labor/social compliance, corporate social responsibility, financial education, financial capacity development, livelihoods development, consumer empowerment, women’s empowerment and responsible inclusive finance.
With a PhD in Economics from Monash University and research background in economics of education, applied economics and empirical studies, Joanne has been keen in harnessing research and evaluation findings to support evidence-based decision making. Experienced with both quantitative and qualitative methods, she is always keen to utilise and explore ways to bring the mixed method approaches, human-centered design principles, participatory research/evaluation approach and behavior-centered design insights to the design and implementation of evaluation and impact assessment work. Joanne is also passionate about digital solutions for data collection and data visualisation to translate data to actionable insights.
