Governor General Sam Mostyn

Global Sisters is honoured to announce that Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of Australia, has accepted the role of Patron of Global Sisters.

Ms Mostyn’s experience, championing equity and inclusion, and leadership of the Women’s Economic Equality Taskforce, makes her a valuable Patron, to help amplify Global Sisters’ important work.

“The Governor-General cares about the challenges facing women, particularly single mothers, carers, and older women at risk of homelessness,” said Mandy Richards, CEO and Founder of Global Sisters. “Global Sisters provides free, practical programs that support women into self-employment and financial independence, while also leading systems change initiatives, tackling long-term economic barriers like housing insecurity and welfare reform to ensure lasting security and inclusion.”

“As Patron, I look forward to helping amplify the vital work Global Sisters is committed to – respecting women, valuing and nurturing their economic contribution and removing systemic barriers,” the Governor-General said. “Helping women achieve economic participation and independence, and improving their financial security benefits all Australians. They are deserving of our country’s deeper care.”
