Raeesa established her business, Edible Love by Rae, a year ago, delivering gourmet cupcakes. Since starting out, Edible Love by Rae has expanded – offering cupcakes, high-end one-off cake art creations, bakes and other edible delights.
Running Edible Love by Rae is a far cry from Raeesa’s former life as a lawyer in South Africa. Unable to practise law here, Brisbane-based Raeesa revived her passions for baking and teaching and decided to combine them into a going concern. Her business gives her the chance to combine her love of creativity, baking and inspiring others. “I love exploring new flavour combinations and creative avenues of decorating food,” she says.
Recently Raeesa has moved into service delivery, offering cake classes, hands-on workshop and demonstrations at cooking schools.
Raeesa is constantly developing her business and growing her own skills when she can. She has even featured in The Great Australian Bake Off.
For Raeesa, being a member of Sister Tribe makes her feel like she has a whole tribe of amazing women cheering her on. “It is so inspiring to be surrounded by other women who share the same goal of empowering themselves,” she says. “I used to feel lost and overwhelmed with the stress associated with starting a business, but Global Sisters has helped me tackle obstacles with ease.”
