Meet Maryann

Maryann is the founder of Missy M Sweets in Perth, Western Australia- living and working on the land of the Noongar people. As a mum who has left corporate work for flexibility in raising her son, she knew she needed to be self-employed. Her passion for baking and desire to be financially independent led Maryann to create her baking business, Missy M Sweets.

Missy M Sweets. Missy M Sweets offers freshly handmade decadent sweets and custom made dessert gift boxes with Asian inspired flavours. We have a decadent product range such as chunkie cookies and fudgy brownies and a healthier range of products such as breakfast cookies to cater for the health conscious customers and nutritious cookies (lactation cookies) that are tailored to mums with newborn. In addition to supplying local supermarkets and other stockists, Maryann also runs baking workshops online for women who want to become self-employed in their own baking business.

Sister Pitch Asks: Maryann is seeking support to scale her current operation from her home kitchen to commercial kitchen. This includes equipment such as (commercial oven & mixer) and hiring of commercial kitchen & staff valued at approx. $50,000. She is also seeking support with growing her brand awareness for Missy M Sweets – in the areas of marketing & advertising (strategic development, sales, distribution & communication services). Finally she is seeking introductions & network opportunities to Metcash or larger grocery chains with operations in Perth and in the eastern states (particularly in Melbourne & Sydney).
