The “Little Green Houses for Her” initiative is a community-led, funded, and supported project that brings a place-based collective impact model to communities. It aims to break the cycles of poverty and reliance on social housing by establishing permanent housing assets that provide economic security for women and children, particularly those seeking to recover from violence. These homes will be owned by the women who need them most—solo mothers, survivors of domestic and family violence, and older women—who continue to face ongoing housing insecurity.
The women will pay a customised mortgage and ultimately own their homes, providing them with long-term financial security and stability. Find out more about the project here.
