A young migrant living in SW Sydney on Gadigal land of the Eora nation. Alies saw a gap in the activewear market, with African prints not readily available and wanted to profile big, bold African prints and colours in her designs.
Frika Activewear. Frika Activewear is inspired by beautiful, bold and bright African prints. Her ideal customer is teen- 30-year-olds of both African and non-African descent.
Alies has designed and developed the samples for her first range of activewear. Specialised print and manufacturing technology for performance activewear is required to manufacture her garments, and this is only accessible overseas.
Sister Pitch Ask: To launch Frika Activewear, Alies needs access to funding of between $20-40K to kick-start the business. She will re-invest profits from these sales into business growth. Alies needs publicity and connections to increase brand awareness and access customers.
